Why is BJJ beneficial for

kids

We believe that all children must learn discipline, respect, control of their bodies and minds, integrity and teamwork in order to achieve successes in life. We also focus on developing self-confidence and self-esteem in a positive learning environment where they will actually be able to see, experience their accomplishments.

Our program is designed to teach self-defense to children which will not only provide them with a high degree of self-confidence and self-esteem, but will help them to effectively deal with bullying and peer pressure that they may experience at school or in life in general. The fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focus on how a smaller, weaker person can defend against a larger opponent through the use of leverage and flexibilty.

Encouraging an environment of teamwork is an important aspect of any Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu regimen and it’s one that participants will also find at Fabio Novaes BJJ.
Many other martial arts prescribe that their art brings confidence, community, respect and discipline but are not rooted in realistic self defense skills.Breaking boards and kicking the air is cool looking, but boards don’t hit back and it leads to these martial arts to developing a mystic aura when it pertains to applicable self defense skills.Nothing is mystical about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, something either works, or it doesn’t. The truth is found and tested every day on the mat at our school.

In our kids class, the kids progress through the ranking system through the judgement of the instructor. There is no test. We have no 10 year old black belts here. It takes years to progress through each belt and they must be earned.

What are you waiting for?? Bring your kids for our 1 WEEK FREE TRIAL. Hope to see you on the mat!

Why is BJJ beneficial for

women

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu does not rely on strength or size but leverage and technique, therefore it explains the success and effectiveness, BJJ can provide for women. Let’s agree, that most of the times a women is faced with a physical threatening situation, the assailant will be bigger and stronger than her. That is exactly when BJJ comes in hand.

BENEFITS:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uses grappling and ground fighting techniques to gain control over a stronger and larger opponent. WOMEN CAN LEARN HOW TO ESCAPE, HOLD, CONTROL AND SUBMIT AN OPPONENT FROM THE GROUND.

USING THE PRINCIPLES OF LEVERAGE AND ANGLES, BJJ GIVES WOMEN THE DEFENSIVE TOOLS REQUIRED TO SUBDUE OR ESCAPE A LARGER OPPONENT.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides women with a sport where they can be physical and aggressive (for those who want to be), and the stretching and workouts they need to stay fit. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a terrific sport to become skilled at, as you will learn how to fight from the ground. It’s a great way to divest you of stress. It requires a lot of determination and concentration to be put on the mat during practice. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a really fun sport and a life changing experience.

BECOMING A ROLE MODEL TO YOUTH:

Throughout childhood, a little girl will encounter all kinds of females that she will potentially look up to.  When you’re a female who does jiu-jitsu, you’re giving her a role model who practices healthy habits, is disciplined, and can handle herself.  Jiu jitsu comes with many benefits, you pass on a lot of those benefits to young ladies just by them seeing you in the sport. You can give that young girl a head start on loving herself and making friends who really care about her safety.  Who knows? You might even convince her to get an early start on training!
